Take One

Half Mag / Half Zine

It’s not often we get to say this but – here’s a tale with a triumphant ending.

University is a time for studying, partying and adventures – but sometimes needless cruelty gets thrown into the mix.

A woman went viral on TikTok after she decided to get revenge against a group of vile individuals by holding a party themed around the number ‘four.’

Tiana Wiltshire plastered number fours on the wall, blew up balloons with the number four on them and even put up a sign saying ‘Four and Fabulous.’

Naturally, you’d assume that this was a party for a four-year-old or an anniversary.

But Tiana revealed in the video – which has been viewed 1.9million times – that she had heard that a university fraternity group full of men had rated her appearance as 4/10.

Needless to say, the downright mean-spirited approach of rating people on their looks is sexist and derogatory.

Anyone who feels the need to make an unsolicited comment on someone else’s appearance – especially if it’s cruel – should consider going for a long walk and figuring out why they wanted to do it.

At the party, which was attended only by her housemates due to Covid, Tiana played beer pong and ate biscuits iced with the number four, as well as a cocktail called ‘Tiana’s tears’ and another called ‘Tiana’s coping mechanism.’

Her TikTok video was flooded with supportive comments – and people sharing their own stories of people acting horribly.

One viewer said: “I have a VIVID memory of a guy I liked in middle school rating me a 4/10 on ask.fm and this truly just erased that trauma a little bit for me.”

Another said: “Well clearly your personality is a 10/10 because this is amazing.”

A third replied: “This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Congratulations.”
